Following his graduation from the University of Arizona, Dr Matheson attended Oregon Health and Sciences University's School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon. Additionally, he completed a dental residency at UCLA, receiving extensive hands-on training in implant placement and restoration, full-mouth rehabilitation, occlusion, the treatment of temporal mandibular dysfunction (commonly known as TMJ) and athletic mouth guards. Dr. Matheson also had the unique opportunity to work at Gomper's Rehabilitation Center, a facility in Phoenix which serves special needs patients. He gained a great love and respect for those he served and gained extensive experience.

Dr. Matheson is a member of the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, the Academy of Implant Dentistry and the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce. He is also fluent in Portuguese, having lived in Brazil for two years.

Dr. Matheson is excited to live in his home town of Queen Creek. His interests include family, church, swimming and is actively taking guitar lessons. He and his wife, Julie, are the proud parents of Bradley, Carter, Lydia, Eve and Camille.
