Sometimes teeth become so compromised from cavities or gum disease, that removing (or extracting) them becomes necessary. Dr. Matheson and his staff take great care to ensure that this is done as comfortably as possible.

Many patient’s mouths are too small for all 32 of their adult teeth. That is why wisdom teeth are extracted in certain individuals. Often this procedure is recommended while patients are young because they heal more quickly and the roots of the wisdom teeth are not fully developed, thus simplifying the procedure. Local anesthetic and other forms of sedation can be used for the comfort of the patient.
